The Village of Rock Creek was settled in 1798, organized in 1819, and incorporated as a village in 1849. The population is approximately 2500, including the surrounding township. Rock Creek is located in south central Ashtabula County, 9 miles south of I-90 and 15 miles south of Lake Erie and adjacent to the private lakefront community of Roaming Shores.
State Route 45 passes thru the center of the village, with approximately 4000 cars traveling the highway on an average day. Rock Creek is 55 miles east of Cleveland, 35 miles north of Youngstown, and 45 miles west of Erie PA.
Rock Creek is the home to a variety of businesses and industry, five churches, an elementary school, a community center, and much more.
Rock Creek is governed by an elected Mayor and an elected Village Council. Part of our government consists of a six member Planning Commission and a Zoning Board of Appeals.
The Rock Creek Area Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1991 to promote Rock Creek, Roaming Shores, and Morgan Township as a great place to live, work, and play.
The chamber connects its member businesses to the surrounding communities and other businesses and industries through monthly meetings and business shows, with the sole purpose of growing business and promoting the area.
The Rock Creek Area Chamber of Commerce lends its support to many community organizations.
